In 2025, Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), part of AZCON Holding, saw a significant increase in passenger traffic on domestic routes and the Absheron circular railway. The number of passengers exceeded the previous year’s results, with a notable rise in December compared to the same month in 2024.
In Azerbaijan, 354,906 tons of raw cotton have been harvested from 100,468 hectares of land so far in 2025. The average cotton yield stands at 35.33 centners per hectare, the highest since 2000, surpassing the previous record of 33.6 centners/ha in 2020.
As of December 1, Azerbaijan’s average cotton yield reached 34.35 c/ha. Beylagan recorded the highest yield at 39.79 c/ha, producing 35,410.3 tons from 8,898.3 hectares. Farmers receive state subsidies of 210 manat (~$123) per ton for modern irrigated fields and 195 manat (~$115) per ton for traditional fields.
In 2024, a significant number of foreign workers worked in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Azerbaijan.
As of early November, Azerbaijan’s economically active population reached roughly 5.4 million, with around 5.1 million employed.
